Things that cause Nepali Films flop

Nov 14, 2015
Every year nearly hundred more films are produced in Nepali Film Industry. Some 5-10 movies hardly get succeeded. Likewise, 10-15 movies recover their investments. Nevertheless, producing movies randomly without choosing the story and actors could not have been stopped in Nepali Film Industry. But why this ??? There are many reasons and they are:

  • Making movie in low cost
  • Actors do work taking minimum salary, and some debuted actors also work without taking money.
  • Producers think that they can recover investment through foreign shows
  • Some actors want to appear in theaters and TVs. That is why he/she become producer also.

These above reasons are also the causes that make Nepali Films Flop in the box office. Moreover, there are also some key reasons that directly affects in Nepali Film box office collection.

Theaters Condition: Except some theaters and multiplexes of Kathmandu, Hetauda, and Chitwan, most of the theaters of Nepal are oldies. The seats of the theaters seems so scrapped. Watching movies sitting on such seats, they feels so uneasy spending such amount of money. Though the picture quality is hd, the screen quality of theaters make movies dim which causes audiences’ eye ache.

In Nov, 2015, We the team of FilmyJoy were Nuwakot and We went to watch Nepali Film Lootera in Nuwakot. Actually, there is only one theater in Nuwakot and that is Jagadamba Chalchitra Mandir which is now instructed and conducted by Gopi Krishna Movies. I found the condition of theater is so boring. The seat of theaters are so dirty. Screen and sound quality was like 1970’s hindi films.

New Comers without any learning and experience: Most of the Nepali Film directors choose new comers to their films. In fact, it is quite good for film industry, but involving new comers who do not have any experience and learning in filmy field can not offer good acts to the audience. As a result, audience do not like that film and those actors.
