Mutilation in folk song destroying Nepali society !

Nepali folk music has been getting victim of mutilation because of some of those song which are only made to increase viewers in YouTube. They do not care social good things and bad things. Some folks songs and singers have been using wardrobe for a long time in the folk songs’ videos, so as to bring viewers in the videos.

Actually, I am not saying modernization is bad thing but we too have to consider about our rituals and traditions because these are our real politeness. Our folk song is our identity which represent us in the world. So bringing Westernity and vulgarity destroy our identity.

Jyoti Magar is a folk singer. However, she is better known for her rough dance and act in the folk videos and songs. Many times, she has been criticized by the legendary people. Nevertheless, it does not have positively affected her mind. Recently, she has come up with her Teej song in which song she is saying “Dar ko satta Vodka Khaainchha”. Now, her another video with lots of rough scenes has released in youtube. Many words of the song has also represented 2 meanings.
