Elina Chouhan Files for Divorce in Kathmandu District Court

Kathmandu: Singer Elina Chouhan has filed for divorce at the Kathmandu District Court on Friday.

She has filed a petition against her husband, Vishnu Sapkota, with the court, according to Deepak Kumar Shrestha, the court’s information officer, who shared this update with OnlineKhabar.

“Rather than claiming a share of property, she has filed the petition solely for divorce,” Shrestha said. “The court will now issue a notice to her husband. If he responds within the stipulated time, the process will proceed accordingly.”

Shrestha also mentioned, “There is still a possibility of reconciliation between the couple. However, if they are not willing to reconcile, the divorce process will continue.”

Elina and Vishnu got married during the first week of Baisakh (April-May).

At present, Vishnu is in Australia. Before filing the case, Elina had been consulting with legal professionals for a few days. A lawyer, who spoke to OnlineKhabar, mentioned that Elina had sought consultation but had been advised not to pursue the case.

Elina is currently a well-known and popular singer.
