“Areli Kandaile Malai Chwassai” Becomes First Nepali Folk Song to Hit 100 Million Views on YouTube

Kathmandu – The song “Areli Kandaile Malai Chwassai…” has become the first Nepali folk song to surpass 100 million views on YouTube. This milestone was achieved on Saturday morning with music composed by Khem Century.

Released a year ago, the song features vocals by Shantishree Pariyar and lyrics by Netra Aryal.

In the race to become the first Nepali folk song to reach 100 million views, “Areli Kandaile Malai Chwassai…” competed closely with Basanta Thapa’s “Saal Ko Paat Tapari.” Over the past few weeks, artists involved in these songs had been actively sharing links to boost views.

Just this past Thursday, another song, “Rukum Maikot,” set a record by reaching 100 million views in less than six months.
