Kathmandu – The filming of Balidan, directed by Santosh Sen, has been completed in just four months. According to director Sen, the entire shoot, including both the first and second phases, has wrapped up.
The final scenes were filmed at Hasina Wetlands in Morang. Other filming locations across Koshi Province include Biratnagar, Itahari, Rangeli, and Kanepokhari. Sen stated that post-production work will commence in a few days.
The film, an action-packed political drama, features Samir Bhatt in the lead role. Sen revealed that the budget was significantly high due to the two-phase shoot.
“The content became quite heavy, and bringing in a South Indian stunt team added to the expenses,” he said. While the release date is yet to be finalized, it will depend on the completion of VFX and post-production work. “We haven’t locked a release date yet, but we are considering either Bhadra (August-September) or Dashain (October) as the final option,” he added.
Sen also dismissed rumors about the release date circulating in the media, emphasizing that it depends entirely on the progress of post-production.
The film stars Samir Bhatt alongside Richa Sharma, Saugat Malla, Arpan Thapa, Divyadev, and Kameshwar Chaurasiya. Action choreography has been handled by South Indian stunt director Sam. Balidan is produced by Pawan Bradford Bisht, with Prem Puri serving as the co-producer.
