Gaurav Kapoor Jokes Ranveer Allahbadia Was Too Quick With His Apology
Comedian Gaurav Kapoor recently took to stand-up comedy to poke fun at the controversy surrounding Ranveer Allahbadia’s quick apology following his controversial remark on India’s Got Latent. The remark, which involved an inappropriate question about parents and sex, sparked national outrage.
Gaurav humorously commented that Ranveer’s apology was too quick, saying, “Ranveer’s controversy happened at midnight, and by 2 AM, he apologized. I don’t even apologize to my dad that fast!” Gaurav joked that Ranveer should have consulted a lawyer before rushing to apologize: “Pay a lawyer, take some time, and figure out what to say!”
The controversy erupted when Ranveer made a disturbing remark to a contestant, which led to widespread backlash across social media and political circles, demanding action against the star podcaster. As a result, the National Commission for Women summoned Ranveer and others involved, including Samay Raina and the producers, for derogatory comments on February 17.
In response, Ranveer issued an apology on social media, admitting his comment was not just inappropriate but unfunny. He expressed regret for his actions, acknowledging that comedy wasn’t his forte.
Meanwhile, Samay Raina, who was also caught in the fallout, removed all India’s Got Latent videos from his YouTube channel, stating that his intent was solely to entertain and that he would cooperate with investigations.
Gaurav’s comic take on the situation resonated with the public, earning laughs and approval from fans online.
