Pankaj Tripathi recently shared his thoughts on the controversy surrounding Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia’s comments on the India’s Got Latent show. He emphasized the importance of understanding cultural values and warned against the pride in speaking nonsense.

In an interview with SCREEN, Pankaj spoke about how fame is often fleeting and the dangers of chasing virality. He pointed out that while the internet allows many to become popular, it doesn’t guarantee intelligence or sensibility. He added, “It’s fine to have fun, but it’s wrong to take pride in saying senseless things.”

Pankaj also reflected on the responsibility that comes with having a platform, reminding people not to give too much weight to viral fame. He said, “Anyone can go viral, but just like a viral illness, it’s temporary. What truly matters is the why and how behind success.”

For context, Ranveer Allahbadia came under fire for making inappropriate remarks on India’s Got Latent. He asked a contestant a disturbing question involving parents and suggested a questionable act for a large sum of money. This led to a police complaint accusing the show’s creators of promoting obscene content.
