‘Sarang’ Receives Rave Reviews at Premiere Ahead of Nationwide Release

Kathmandu: The film Sarang, directed by Prashant Tamang, has received praise at its premiere. The film, which is set to be released nationwide on 25th Magh, had its premiere on Tuesday at the QFX Civil Mall theater.

On this occasion, actors, technicians, journalists, and representatives from various fields expressed their admiration for Sarang. Actress and director Deepashree Niroula openly praised the film. She mentioned that the movie is special for both married and unmarried individuals, and emphasized that everyone should watch it. She expressed confidence that the film would win the hearts of audiences due to its entertainment value and strong messages. She also praised the performances of Richa, Utpal, child actors Aditya Karki and Samrat Thapa.

Niroula further commented that making a film based on real events is a bold endeavor, and that the producer and director deserve respect for their efforts. Director Pradeep Bhattrai shared that after watching Sarang, he, his wife, and his son were moved to tears in many places. He stressed the need for more beautiful films like this one to be created.

Producer Arjun Kumar stated that Sarang is a film with a unique storyline compared to those currently being shown. He believes that such films play an important role in fostering harmony within families and society. Kumar also mentioned that many scenes in the film left a lasting impression on him.

Actress Priyanka Karki commented that the film, based on a real-life story, would deeply resonate with the audience. She expressed her appreciation for how the film portrays events within families. Actors Dibyadev and Sulakshan Bharti also praised the film.

Actress Richa Sharma mentioned that Sarang marks the beginning of her second career innings. She said, “After a few years, I am making my return to the screen with this film, and it has turned out really well. We’ve received great feedback at special shows, and I am optimistic. I believe this is my second innings.”

Director Prashant, who previously made Thulo Manchhe on child psychology, has presented a magical story in Sarang, focusing on the bond between two children in a family facing disintegration. He shared that he received praise from special screenings held in places like Labim Mall, Dharan, and Itahari.

The film presents a realistic portrayal of urban lifestyles, conflicts between parents, the divide between the rich and the poor, and the disintegration of families in the pursuit of materialistic pleasures. The cast includes Utpal Jha, Sameer Mani Dixit, Suraj Tamu, Mani K. Rai, Anisha Nyaupane, Neeraj Black, Bishwa Syangbo, Deepika Thapa, Suman Sagarjung KC, Prabhat Shrestha, and child actors Aditya Karki and Samrat Thapa.

Produced under the banner of Darshan Budd Films, Sarang is produced by Prem Tamang and Phoolmaya Tamang, with Pushpa Limbu and Binu Gurung as co-producers. The film’s songs are composed by Shankar Thapa “Smile” and Nakul Karki, lyrics by DP Khanal, and choreography by Sushma Rai. The film, shot by Gopal Rai and edited by Mithra D. Gurung, is being screened nationwide by Station Five.
