The filming of ‘The Mountain’ has resumed
Kathmandu – The filming of the movie Pahad, directed by Tulsi Ghimiire, has commenced after some delays. The film started shooting on January 5, but production was halted on the second day due to health issues faced by director Ghimiire. He has announced that filming will resume on February 22 in Gorakh after his health improves.
The film’s narrative focuses on the social and economic issues arising from the migration of young people from the hills. Director Ghimiire, who is also the writer, aims to portray the harsh realities of society through this story. He stated, “The film encapsulates the tale of the high hills, which have become uninhabited. It highlights our responsibilities and the needs of our country.” He expressed excitement about working with a diverse cast, ranging from new talents to established veterans.
After recovering, director Ghimiire returned to the set with renewed energy. The film is produced by Ojaswi KC, with cinematography by Pramod Pradhan, who has previously worked on films, web series, and telefilms in India. Pradhan has collaborated with Ghimiire on projects such as Anyaya, Koseli, Chino, and Dakhina and is returning to Nepal for film cinematography after thirty years. Filming is set to take place over 25 days in Gorakh and surrounding areas, followed by 15 days in India.
Under the banner of Bhagyaratna Films Pvt. Ltd., the film features an ensemble cast, including Bipin Karki, Sunil Thapa, Madan Krishna Shrestha, Reunath Yogi, Arun Kshetri, Ravindrasinh Baniya, and Salona Bajracharya. Director Ghimiire will introduce his youngest daughter, Panchami Ghimiire, as an actress in this film. Additionally, his elder daughter, Bhawana Ghimiire, is responsible for production design.
The technical team includes Ranjit Gajmer as the music director and Bharti Ghimiire as the creative director. The film’s co-producers are Rimposhe Lama Thing and Suresh Lama Thing. In Nepal, it will be distributed by Venkatesh Entertainment and Seven Seas International Films in the diaspora. The publicity design is handled by Royal Bhimseni and Trident Concept. After taking a break from directing following his last film Darpanchhaya 2, director Ghimiire is making his comeback with Pahad.
