Kathmandu – Anjila has achieved a promising box office performance in Nepal. Based on the inspiring journey of national women’s football team player Anjila Tumbapo Subba, the film’s earnings have been remarkable.

According to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Anjila has grossed NPR 270 million (ticket sales) in its first eight days at the domestic box office as of Thursday. With no major releases this or the coming weekend, the film is expected to benefit from strong word-of-mouth and continue its successful run. Director Milan Chams’ film is on track to surpass the NPR 300 million mark with ease.

On the other hand, the action drama Out-L, starring Sushil Shrestha, has grossed around NPR 100 million at the domestic box office in its first eight days. Given the positive audience response to its high-octane action sequences, its earnings could see further growth over the next two weekends.

Meanwhile, on March 29 (Friday), another Nepali film, Dori, is set to release, followed by Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s Sikandar on March 31 (Sunday).

Anjila Yet to Sell International Rights

In an official statement, the producers of Anjila clarified that the film’s distribution rights have only been sold for Japan, South Korea, Canada, and Hong Kong. They are open to discussions with potential distributors interested in screening the film in other countries.
