Even being a movie of Hritik Roshan, Mohenjo Daro could not make the opening good in the box office. It only collected nearly 9 crore in its opening. It would be good enough, if the budget of the movie is across 45-55 crore. However, the budget of Mohenjo Daro is 100 crore more. The opening of the movie is really embarrassing. Anyway, it is the ninth highest opening in 2016 in Bollywood cinema.
The same day release movie “Rustom” in which Akshay is in lead role, has done fantastic business in the box office. It earned about 14 crore in the opening day. The budget of the movie Rustam is half lower than the budget of Hritik’s Mohenjo Daro. Nevertheless, Rustom’s opening is 35% greater than Mohenjo Daro. Reportedly, Mohenjo Daro got more theaters than Rustom, but it collected less than Rustom.
The releasing of both superstars movie at the same day has been quite disappointing for Bollywood Industry because this obviously caused loss to both the movies.
