Kapil Sharma Shares That Coldplay Wanted to Appear on His Show: “We Told Them Our Show Isn’t Doing Well Right Now”

Kapil Sharma is gearing up for the third season of The Great Indian Kapil Show, and during Netflix India’s 2025 line-up announcement, he shared an interesting story about Coldplay. The band, after their successful concerts in Mumbai and Ahmedabad, reached out via email expressing their desire to appear on Kapil’s show. Kapil humorously recalled telling the makers, “Keep the set ready all year, because while people were buying Coldplay tickets, they were emailing us to come on the show. But we told them, our show wasn’t going well at that moment.”

Kapil also addressed questions about his previous fallout with co-actor Sunil Grover, responding with a light-hearted comment, “Season 3 is for them, but for us, it’s just another episode. We’re used to doing 200-episode series and only stop when we have our own fights.”

The new season of The Great Indian Kapil Show will feature regulars like Sunil Grover, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Rajiv Thakur, and Archana Puran Singh, and promises another round of celebrity guests, much like its successful second season, which included stars like Alia Bhatt, Karan Johar, and Rekha. The show continues to follow a similar format to Kapil’s previous hits, The Kapil Sharma Show and Comedy Nights with Kapil.
