Ranveer Allahbadia, a popular YouTuber and influencer, is facing major backlash after making a disturbing comment on India’s Got Latent about parents and sex. His remark has sparked outrage, leading to strong reactions from political figures and the public. Amid the controversy, an old video of Aamir Khan resurfaced on Reddit, where he discussed “verbal violence” in the context of freedom of speech.

The video dates back to 2015 when Aamir Khan responded to a roast by Karan Johar and Arjun Kapoor. He shared his belief in the importance of freedom of speech but criticized the idea of “verbal violence,” explaining that insulting someone can perpetuate violence, even if it’s not physical. Aamir expressed that while he respects everyone’s right to speak freely, he didn’t find the roast funny and even scolded his friends Karan and Arjun for their language. He urged that humor should come without insults and called on creatives to find the good in people.

In the current controversy, notable figures like Imtiaz Ali, Manoj Bajpayee, and B Praak have also voiced their criticism of Ranveer’s comment. B Praak even canceled his appearance on Ranveer’s podcast. Meanwhile, the National Commission for Women has summoned Ranveer, Samay Raina, and the show’s producers on February 17 for derogatory remarks.

The uproar started when Ranveer asked a contestant a shocking question about watching or participating in sexual acts with their parents. This comment led to a police case being filed against him and others involved, including comedians Ashish Chanchlani and Jaspreet Singh.

In response to the backlash, Ranveer issued a public apology on social media, admitting that his comment was not only inappropriate but also unfunny. Maharashtra’s Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, also criticized him for his remarks.
