Philadelphia Eagles’ running back, Saquon Barkley, has expressed his confusion and disappointment over the negative reaction Taylor Swift received during Super Bowl LIX. Swift attended the game to support her partner, Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce, and was met with boos when shown on the jumbotron at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

In a recent interview on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show, Barkley recounted the incident: “I remember they showed her on the jumbotron, and she got booed. I don’t get it. I don’t get why she was getting hate there. She was there supporting her significant other.”

Barkley emphasized Swift’s positive influence on the NFL, noting that her presence has broadened the game’s audience and contributed to its international growth. He stated, “She made the game bigger. In football, we’re all about, ‘How can we expand the game and make it more international?’ We’re traveling to Brazil, we’re traveling to Mexico, apparently we’re traveling to Australia soon. So we’re trying to expand the game, and her being a part of it’s only helping that. I don’t get the slack that she’s getting.”

The incident has sparked discussions among fans, with some questioning why Kelce has remained silent on the matter. One fan commented, “The fact random players defending her but her boyfriend never will,” while another added, “Why is Travis not saying anything? Like stand up for your girl dude.”

Despite the mixed reactions, Swift’s appearances at NFL games have undeniably drawn significant media attention, highlighting the intersection of pop culture and sports.
