Kesari Chapter 2, starring Akshay Kumar, R. Madhavan, and Ananya Panday, will now release on April 18, 2025, instead of its initially planned March 14 release. The film is based on the book The Case That Shook The Empire by Raghu and Pushpa Palat, and tells the story of C. Sankaran Nair, a barrister who fought against the British Raj to uncover the truth behind the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, Kesari Chapter 2 is produced by Dharma Productions, Leo Media Collective, and Cape of Good Films. The film delves into the untold story of Nair’s struggle, showcasing his critical role in Indian history.

C. Sankaran Nair, the great-grandfather of Raghu Palat, was the former President of the Indian National Congress and a key figure in the Viceroy’s Executive Council.

Akshay Kumar’s recent project Skyforce (2025) and R. Madhavan’s Hisaab Barabar (2025) were also well-received, while Ananya Panday’s CTRL (2024) saw her collaborating with Vikramaditya Motwane.
