Netflix Removes All Scenes Featuring Urvashi Rautela from Nandamuri Balakrishna’s ‘Daaku Maharaj’
In an unexpected move, Netflix has reportedly removed all of Urvashi Rautela’s scenes from Daaku Maharaj ahead of its streaming release. The decision has left fans puzzled and disappointed, especially since the actress played an active role in promoting the film.
The Telugu action drama, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, is set to premiere on Netflix on February 21. However, fans noticed that Urvashi was missing from the official promotional poster, which featured Bobby Deol, Pragya Jaiswal, and Shraddha Srinath. This omission quickly became a talking point on social media, with fans questioning why she was left out. In response to the backlash, Netflix later released individual character slides, including two featuring Urvashi, seemingly to address the issue.
Directed by Bobby Kolli, Daaku Maharaj premiered in theaters on January 12, 2025, and was a box-office success, grossing ₹105 crore. Despite her significant role, Urvashi’s promotional efforts were overshadowed by controversy after she commented on the Saif Ali Khan stabbing incident. While condemning the attack, she also flaunted her diamond-studded watch, which many criticized as an insensitive move.
The reason behind Netflix’s decision to cut her scenes remains unclear, but it has certainly fueled debate among fans and industry insiders.
