Feb 20, 2025

The Monsterverse is expanding, and its latest installment has added Jack O’Connell to the cast. The upcoming Godzilla and King Kong film is being directed by Grant Sputore (I Am Mother) and scripted by Dave Callaham.

Plot details remain under wraps, but Legendary has confirmed that the film will introduce new human characters alongside the beloved Titans as they battle a catastrophic world-ending threat. O’Connell will play the brother of Kaitlyn Dever’s character, with Dever leading the human cast. Dan Stevens also returns as Trapper, the laid-back monster veterinarian introduced in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.

O’Connell, best known for his roles in Unbroken, Ferrari, and Back to Black, has a busy year ahead. He stars as a villain opposite Michael B. Jordan in Sinners (releasing April 18) and joins the star-studded cast of 28 Years Later, Danny Boyle’s return to the zombie genre (releasing June 20).

With new characters, epic battles, and the return of iconic Titans, this latest Monsterverse installment is shaping up to be an unmissable cinematic event. Stay tuned for more updates!
